I hate cars. I hate driving. I really hate paying for gas.

If the public transportation was any good in Oklahoma, I'd so use it.

In the meantime, I have decided that whenever we buy a house it's going to be close enough to work and church where I can walk most of the time.

I'll tell you guys about the problem later.

the weekend is finally here, and it's 10:35 am here, and all I have done today is read some Psalms, eaten half of my breakfast and gotten dressed.

I am so procastinating, but I love it!

I have a sewing project I need to finish today, and it is almost done, I just really hate hemming things. Then I need to do some house cleaning, and I hope to fit a trip to the pool and some shopping in somewhere this afternoon. I really need to work on getting a tan . . . having brown arms and white legs is not cool.

Okay, finally finished breakfast . . .

In other news, I'm working on another list - this time it's 25 things to do before I turn 25. Some of you may remember my 21-list. I think that's somewhere in my archives here . . . I'll have to dig it up again.

So far, I'm stuck at about 16 or 17 things . . . I gotta find my scratch paper and then I'll post what I have up here.

OH! A couple of major things I forgot to post.

In May, I was ordained as a minister. I am now the third generation female minister in my family serving at the same church - at the same time. I've noticed that my family tends to be a bit matriarchal. It's rather interesting . . . especially when people find out I'm 24 years old and a minister. My best friend occasionally teases me by calling me 'Pastor Bekah'.

Okay, and now I can't remember what the other thing I was going to post was, lol!

Um . . . we have a cat now. She's about 8 years old, pure white. Her name is Winiford, but we call her Winnie for short. She is very obnoxious.

Okay, I remember the other thing now - my manager's daughter is a writer too. So she and I are starting a writing group, and I'm thrilled that I have a friend that I can actually talk to face to face about my writing now! It's great.

Well, enough of my rambling for now . . .

But wait! I got to see baby flamingos at the zoo last saturday! they were soooo cute!

I've decided that if I don't want to be a writer ever, I'm going to be a zookeeper.

well, today is my little sister's 22nd birthday. my LITTLE sister! When did she get to be so . . . adult?

So, to celebrate, we're going to the zoo! So very like my sister to choose the zoo.

My sister and I have an interesting relationship . . . when we were younger, I idolized her . . . I thought she was gorgeous, and she had such a wild imagination. I was the responsible one, and she was the carefree one, and I envied her.

Now, though, we're more companionable than we were then. It's not a popularity contest anymore between our parents (not that our parents ever fell for that), especially with me moved out and married. And for some reason my sister has had some self confidence issues, which only multiplied when she hit puberty and developed a terrible case of acne, which still plagues her. I have yet to convince her to go to a dermatologist, because she's also afraid of doctors. She thinks too much of people's opinions.

My sister is one of the few people who really understands me in some ways though. She and I both get very very very attached to our pets. To us, they're not just animals, they're family members. Through the years, when pets would come into our lives, and later leave them, it bonded us. When Blackie, our first dog, died, it broke both our hearts, and that really bonded us. Grief has a funny way of doing that . . .

I guess what I'm trying to say, and even though I now she'll probably never read this . . .

what's been up with me . . . well, since I have to leave for church in less than an hour, this is going to be in list format . . . I'll give more details sometime later.

January 2008
- got married, of course!
- 3-day honeymoon in Eureka Springs at this lovely cottage, the hot tub on the patio was WONDERFUL!
- upon returning to Tulsa, settled in to the apartment, and turned down an opportunity to spend the last week of my honeymoon (I took about 2 1/2 weeks off of work for the actual wedding and honeymoon, etc) at a Chick-Fil-A Grand Opening in OKC, despite the massive amount of guaranteed overtime.

February 2008
- 2nd Valentine's day together, first one married of course, and Brandon ended up working until 8 pm that night, so it rather sucked.
- bought a new car, because my car was about to die. At this point, we owed $14,000 to someone else! It sucks going from zero debt to $14,000.

May 2008
- turned 23

July 2008
- hubby turned 24
- started looking for a new place to live after 4 murders within 1/4 mile of the apartments we were living at.
- found a wonderful place for $450/month with water and cable included in the rent!

August 2008
- moved for the second time in a YEAR.
- was forbidden to move again for at least 3 more years unless buying a house by friends who felt roped into hauling furnitre and boxes :D:D:D
- agreed wholeheartedly with above event.
- started school again for the first time after being married, took first creative writing course - it was so awesome!

November 2008
- was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honors Society for Two-Year Colleges
- maintained a 4.0 GPA for the 3rd of 4 semesters *squee*
- first Thanksgiving as a married couple!!

December 2008
- first Christmas as a married couple!! The big present was Silver Dollar City season passes for the two of us.

January 2009
- financial aid fell through at school, so have not returned yet. Stupid government . . .
- first anniversary! Brandon ended up working late for this special event too . . . stupid Mathis Brothers.
- entered a story contest, have to wait six months for result

February 2009
- slight pregnancy scare, but fortunately was not (want to wait a couple more years still)

March 2009
- my best friend's boyfriend proposed!! Now have another wedding to plan as her MOH

April 2009
- went to Silver Dollar City with my best friend and her fiance, and hubby of course :D

May 2009
- LOVED STAR TREK!!
- turned 24, and realized that next year I will be a quarter of a century old.

June 2009
- got internet!!
- did not get even an honorable mention in above mentioned story contest :(

So, that's just a glimpse of my past year and a half . . .

So after almost a year and a half of marriage, we finally have internet! I know it's been a really long time since I posted here, but hopefully there will be a big long post shortly to let you guys know what I have been up to for the past year and a half . . . HELLO WORLD!

I'm getting married in a little less than 4 hours. I'm sooo nervous!

yeah, it's been a while . . . there's been a lot going on.

First and foremost, a couple prayer requests:

One of Brandon's cousins (I think she's a cousin) is in a hospital in SC in critical condition. She and her family (she's rather young) were at the zoo and a tree limb fell and hit her in the head. She's had surgery to relieve pressure to the brain, and is in a medically induced coma right now. She is stable, so they're just praying that she'll have a quick recovery. The doctor's say everything is going very well, it's just a matter of time.

The other prayer request is this . . . the sister of a guy I graduated with died yesterday/today (I'm not sure which). She was on a missions trip to Puerto Rico, and the group she was with was at the beach and she got caught in the tide. She was in a coma for several days before she died. Her name was Deborah Blackwell, so please keep the Blackwell family in your prayers right now.


In other news . . . wedding planning is coming along well. The planning is almost done, we've just got to finalize the location, send out 'Save the Dates' (of which we've already done some of them), finalize the menu and find a caterer (?), and find a minister :D. And I have to make my dress. But I found (and bought!) Brandon's wedding band! Whee!!

I got to make a weekend trip last week . . I went to Branson, MO with Brandon and his family, and had a ton of fun at Silver Dollar City! They have this ride called the giant swing . . . and I'm never going on it again! I haven't decided whether it was worse than a roller coaster or not. It was pretty terrifying, though. We also went through Marvel Cave, and got photos there, which I might get up eventually. It was so much fun! I love the shops there . . . it's literally like stepping back into the 1800's. Well worth the trip.

And in other news . . . we're going to attempt to put insulation in my bedroom walls tomorrow. >_< I'm not looking forward to it.

well, it's been about a month or more since I last posted, and honestly I don't even want to post right now, but I figure I need to update some of you on what's happening in life.

We're having Troy put down tomorrow . . . most of you know that he's been epileptic for the past few years, and it's just gotten worse and worse, and it's a thing of mercy now. So he leaves the house at 8:30-ish tomorrow morning . . . and we'll never see him again. I don't know how I'm going to work tomorrow . . . I've been bursting into tears off and on all day today.

About work, I left Hobby Lobby on February 10th, and I've been working at Stage since. It's a good job . . . I like it, and the people, but I still hate retail. I'm kind of confused right now, too . . . I turned in an application at a bank the same day I turned in my app at Stage, and the bank called me the other day for an interview. I've decided to go ahead and do the interview . . . and if I'm offered the job I'll probably take it, and quit Stage. The bank has sooo many perks - I'd be off by 6 pm most the time, I'll have a full-time job (I am full-time at Stage right now), and I'll make at least $2/hr more than I am now. And I'd never have to work Sundays, and any Saturdays I'd work would be half days. So we'll see what happens . . . I figure Stage doesn't need to know unless I take the job. My interview will be sometime next week, as soon as I know my work schedule at Stage.

And wedding news . . . well, we've decided to delay the wedding a bit. We're looking at January of next year, probably sometime the first week so, before school starts (though I might be taking that semester off, or at least the first 8 weeks of it), and before everyone that's in town for Christmas heads back to their various schools around the country :D.

School's going good . . . I have A's in everything so far, though it's a low A in nutrition. One course is finished already, and that is Art of Film. I started American History this week, so I'm hoping to make an A in this one also. I really want to make the President's Honor Roll this semester . . .

And that's life so far!

the wedding date is changing again. Because Rebekah's calendar skills are screwed up and she just discovered that June 30th is a Saturday and not a Friday. And the community center is only open for 4 hours on a Saturday, which is not enough time.

So, HOPEFULLY, and FINALLY the date will be June 29th. Provided my dad can get it off.

I will now be a June bride XD.

the date has now gone, in the past two weeks, from July 8th to July 6th to June 30th. Hopefully June 30th will be the permanent date.

and I'm changing jobs. I'm now employed at both Hobby Lobby and Stage, but February 10th is my last day at Hobby Lobby. YAY!

And I made the Dean's Honor Roll last semester at TCC, and got a nice little certificate in the mail today :D. Now the goal is to make the president's honor roll this semester, and I KNOW I can pull a 4.0 . . .

I'm tired as living as a slave to everyone's whims.

Oklahoma is in the midst of a blizzard right now.

It's cold - 20 some degrees, windchill below zero at times . . . it's crazy.

I think it was the food.

The first dream was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaalllyyy weird.

I dreamed that my family was living in this huuuuuuge house with another family, and that family tried to turn my boss and my grandpa into vampires O.o

The other dream was weird too . . . but it would make a good setting for a story. I can remember the main bits if it, but I'm starting to forget a few details, so I need to jot it down . . . but leftovers are calling my name!

I made a 95 on my annotated bibliography!!! I'm going to pull off an A in comp 1 after all! *dances*

there is nothing WRONG, or SINFUL or EVIL about a strapless wedding gown, or a gown that shows a little bit of shoulder blade. I'm going to wear whatever damn gown I want for my wedding - I'm only getting married once, after all, and this is one thing where I WILL put up fight for what I want.
